FFAD Trust is a not-for-profit Zimbabwean registered organization responding to the impact of drugs, alcohol and substances abuse and the health of asthmatics in Zimbabwe.
CAPABILITY STATEMENT
(4 PILLARS)
1. Awareness and Education Programs
- Information dissemination on dangers of drugs & alcohol abuse
- COVID 19 in Drug abusers and asthmatics management
- Roadshows, flyers, brochures, radio, print media and television
- Public drug and asthma helpline and mobile Apps
- Policy guided random screening for drugs in schools, workplaces
- Policy guided awareness and education on COVID 19 and asthma attack prevention, life style, Asthma action plan education
2. Training of Peer Educators
- Training of Peer Educators in schools, institutions, workplaces and local communities to spearhead advocacy and education on drug, alcohol and substance abuse, asthma and Covid 19 management in Zimbabwe.
3. Rapid DOA Testing, Counseling and Referral Services
- Early identification of youth abusing and vulnerable to drugs
- Testing for drugs of abuse using Rapid Test Kits
- Referral pathways for counselling and treatment programmes
- Motivational interviewing
- Identify asthmatics and help in Life skills therapy, contingency management, self-management and family therapy
4. Dissemination of best practices
- Communicate appropriately with stakeholders to assist in influencing practice and policy in Zimbabwe on rights based preventive education and publicity, treatment and rehabilitation, legislation and law enforcement
